Serbia and the European Union: historical background and integration perspectives.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest omówienie sytuacji wewnętrznej i zewnętrznej w Serbii oraz perspektyw tego państwa w kontekście członkostwa w Unii Europejskiej. Praca przedstawia problemy z jakimi zmaga się kraj oraz to, w jaki sposób mają one wpływ na integrację z UE. Przedstawione zostały istotne wydarzenia dla Serbii, takie jak wojna w Bośnie i Hercegowinie w latach 90., przyjęcie do procesu stabilizacji i stowarzyszenia oraz przejęcie władzy przez Aleksandra Vučicia. Opisano zmiany zachodzące w kraju po rozpadzie Jugosławii oraz reformy, które miały na celu polepszenie relacji na linii Serbia-Unia Europejska. Praca skupia się także na relacje Serbii z Chinami, Federacją Rosyjską i Stanami Zjednoczonymi, ze względu na serbską politykę czterech filarów.

The aim of this paper is to discuss the internal and external situation in Serbia and the country's prospects for European Union membership. The paper presents the problems the country is facing and how they affect EU integration. Significant events for Serbia are presented, such as the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1990s, admission to the Stabilization and Association Process and Aleksandar Vučić's seizure of power. Changes in the country after the breakup of Yugoslavia are described, as well as reforms to improve Serbia-EU relations. The paper also focuses on Serbia's relations with China, the Russian Federation and the United States, due to Serbia's four-pillar policy.
