Managing student’s leisure time at the Faculty of Management and Social Communication at Jagiellonian University.

Tematyka mojej pracy obejmuje pojęcie czasu wolnego oraz sposób, w jaki studenci WZiKS UJ zarządzają swoim wolnym czasem. W trakcie zawężania problemu badawczego przyjęłam hipotezę, że studenci WZiKS posiadają sporo wolnego czasu, którym nie zawsze świadomie i efektywnie zarządzają. Postanowiłam też sprawdzić na ile możliwości działań w czasie wolnym organizowane przez Uczelnię są doceniane i wykorzystywane przez studentów. Celem mojej pracy było więc zbadanie w oparciu o badania przeprowadzone w WZiKS, w jaki sposób czas wolny jest zarządzany przez studentów oraz jak go definiują.Pierwszy rozdział pracy przedstawia podstawowe pojęcia nakreślając tym samym jej tematykę. Dotyczy czasu wolnego i jego funkcji oraz zarządzania czasem wolnym. Poruszam też tematykę rozumienia czasu wolnego w kontekście jednostki i problemów związanych z niewłaściwym zarządzaniem czasem wolnym. Drugi rozdział ma na celu pokazanie jak współcześnie wygląda gospodarowanie czasem wolnym. Wpływ nowoczesnych technologii i konsumpcyjnego trybu życia na czas wolny to głównie poruszane w nim kwestie. Zwrócę również uwagę na problem zachowań konsumpcyjnych i aktywności czasu wolnego ludzi młodych, oraz zmian jakie zachodzą u nich po rozpoczęciu studiów w kontekście czasu wolnego. Rozdział trzeci to przedstawienie wyników badań ze studentami WZiKS na temat ich aktywności w czasie wolnym oraz wpływu jaki ma na nie fakt studiowania na Wydziale. W badaniu pojawiły się też opinie studentów na temat proponowanych przez nich zmian na Kampusie, tak aby chętniej spędzali tam czas wolny. Ostatnią częścią pracy jej jej podsumowanie, szczególnie jeśli chodzi o wyniki przeprowadzonych badań.

Subject of this paper is 'Managing student’s leisure time at the Faculty of Management and Social Communication at Jagiellonian University'. While I was writing it I assumed that the students of this faculty have a lot of free time, but they do not always manage it wisely. Moreover I have also assumed that the whole need of leisure time management is not always understood by them. I have thought that students do not pay much attention to the future consequences of their free time activities. I wanted to check if the students are aware of the possibilities that the Faculty gives them when it comes to spending their free time, and if they actually use it. First chapter of this paper is about basic ideas and it states the subject. It is about leisure time, it's functions and also about leisure time management. In the second chapter I wanted to show how important leisure time is nowadays and how the new technologies effect it. Other factors mentioned in the second chapter are new technologies and consumption in a reference to young people and the changes in their free time activities after stating studying. The third chapter presents the results of the survey in which I interviewed students at the Faculty of Management and Social Communication about their leisure time activities and how are they connected with studying at the University. In the survey students were talking about the changes they would propose on the Campus to be more ready to spend their free time there. Last part of the paper sums up the general ideas and comments on the survey.
