The autobiographical nature of Edward Stachura

Przedmiotem pracy jest analiza przejawów autobiograficzności w twórczości Edwarda Stachury. Obszar badań obejmuje powieści, opowiadania, dzienniki oraz listy, które zostały opublikowane w formach książkowych. Ma to szczególne znaczenie, ponieważ pozwala na odtworzenie kreowania się „ja” autora z perspektywy czytelnika, który podejmuje się wysiłku odczytania dzieł. Podstawę dla ujęć autobiografizmu stanowią dotychczasowe badania Phillipe’a Lejeune’a oraz Małgorzaty Czermińskiej, uzupełnione o dodatkowy kontekst. W perspektywie całości ważne staje się także założenie Henryka Berezy, który w stosunku do Stachury użył terminu „życiopisania”. Interpretacja obejmuje także: miejsca autobiograficzne, problem sobowtórów, funkcje dziennika oraz epistolografię w kontekście jej przynależności gatunkowej. Całość, mimo próby ukonstytuowania w obranym obszarze badań, nie pomija indywidualnego charakteru praktyki twórczej, który ustanawia Stachurę w perspektywie XX-wiecznej literatury jako wyjątkowego twórcę.

The subject of this study is the analysis of the manifestations of autobiographicality in the works of Edward Stachura. The research area includes novels, short stories, diaries and letters that were published in book forms. This is of particular importance because it allows the creation of the author's 'self' to be reconstructed from the perspective of a reader who makes an effort to read the works. The previous studies by Phillipe Lejeune and Malgorzata Czerminska, supplemented by additional context, provide the basis for the approaches to autobiography. In the perspective of the whole, Henryk Bereza's assumption of the term 'life-writing' in relation to Stachura also becomes important. The interpretation also includes: autobiographical sites, the problem of doubles, the functions of the diary and epistolography in the context of its genre affiliation. The work as a whole, despite its attempt to be constituted in the chosen field of research, does not overlook the individual character of creative practice, which establishes Stachura in the perspective of 20th-century literature as a unique author.
