"A dragon flying through the sky" - the philosophical basis of "spontaneous expression" in the practise of the wenren's art.

The theme of the work is the philosophical ground of "spontaneous expression" in artistic practice of wenren community. Art of confucius scholars - "literati" is an extension of their practice of philosophy and the method of "spontaneous expression" is a philosophical activity par excellence. The main aim is reconstruction of the contents of the concept of "spontaneous expression", and the conditions of this method of artistic creation.The work begins the presentation of the concept of art in terms of Confucianism, then this concept is presented in Daoism philosophy. Then it is shown the evolution of these two great schools of philosophy, and their combination in the currents of neoconfucianism and neodaoism and chan Buddhism as well, resulting in growing of the practice of "spontaneous expression". Presentation of philosophical reflection on this "method without method" is based on Chinese aesthetic texts concerning mainly on monochromatic ink painting and calligraphy.The study of this subject, the philosophical approach to artistic creativity seems to be especially interesting now when in European culture becomes important the art of "free improvisation. " Understanding the assumptions of "spontaneous expression", read philosophical treatises dealing with it, it might be helpful in the development of philosophy of "free improvisation".

Tematem pracy jest filozoficzne podłoże „swobodnej ekspresji” w praktyce artystycznej kręgu wenren. Sztuka konfucjańskich uczonych jest przedłużeniem ich praktyki filozoficznej, a metoda „swobodnej ekspresji” jest aktywnością filozoficzną par excellence. Głównym celem pracy jest rekonstrukcja zawartości pojęcia „swobodnej” ekspresji, oraz warunków stosowania tej metody kreacji artystycznej. Pracę rozpoczyna prezentacja pojęcia sztuki w ujęciu konfucjańskim, a następnie to pojęcie jest zaprezentowane w ujęciu daoistycznym. Następnie ukazana jest ewolucja tych dwóch wielkich szkół filozoficznych, oraz ich łączenie się w nurtach neodaoizmu i neokonfucjanizmu jak i w buddyzmie chan , skutkujące wykształceniem się praktyki „swobodnej ekspresji”. Filozoficzna refleksja nad tą „metodą bez metody” prezentowana jest na podstawie chińskich tekstów estetycznych dotyczących głównie monochromatycznego malarstwa tuszowego i kaligrafii.Badanie tej tematyki, filozoficznego podejścia do twórczości artystycznej, wydaje się być szczególnie interesujące obecnie, gdy w kręgu kultury europejskiej znaczenia zaczyna nabierać sztuka „swobodnie improwizowana”. Zrozumienie założeń „swobodnej ekspresji”, odczytanie traktatów filozoficznych o niej traktujących, może okazać się pomocne przy konstruowaniu filozofii „swobodnej improwizacji”.
