Interpellation, subjugation, phantasm: Ideology as a mechanism for the formation of subjectivity

Przedmiotem mojego zainteresowania jest przeformułowanie pojęcia ideologii, które dokonało się poprzez uwolnienie go z ograniczeń dualizmu rzeczywistości i reprezentacji. Przyjmuję ujęcie tej kwestii w filozofii lacanowskiej Slavoja Žižka za punkt dojścia tego procesu i rekonstruuję jego istotne wcześniejsze momenty: przejście przez Marksa od ideologii do fetyszyzmu towarowego, Althusserowską teorię ideologicznej interpelacji i pracę Foucaulta nad dyscyplinarnymi technikami władzy.

The subject of my interest is the reformulation of the concept of ideology, which was accomplished by freeing it from the constraints of the reality/representation dualism. I take the treatment of this problem in Slavoj Žižek’s Lacanian philosophy as the endpoint of this process and reconstruct its earlier important moments: Marx’s transition from ideology to commodity fetishism, Althusser’s theory of ideological interpellation and Foucault’s work on the disciplinary techniques of power.
