Uniting fragmentation. The subjectivity model in Fernando Pessoa's "The Book of Disquiet"

Praca przedstawia model podmiotowości występujący w "Księdze niepokoju" Fernanda Pessoi. Głównymi elementami modelu są heteronimia, utrzymywanie napięcia między rzeczywistością a marzeniami i "pisanie sobą", jako forma egzystencji. Decentralizacja "ja" oraz redefinicja kategorii działania powoduje, że podmiot Pessoi jest w stanie z dużą dowolnością kontrolować własną podmiotowość. Przyjęcie takiej perspektywy pomnaża możliwości jakimi ów podmiot dysponuje względem siebie i względem otaczającego go świata. Jednocześnie "ja" zostaje scalone zarówno w procesie pisania, jak i w późniejszym dziele.

The thesis describes the model of the subjectivity present in Fernando Pessoa's "The Book of Disquiet". The main elements of the model are heteronimity, a constant tension between one's dream and reality and "self-writing" as a way of existence. The decentralization of the self and redefining the category of an act results expanded freedom of Pessoa's subjectivity. Such perspective provides "I" with more possibilities regarding itself and the surrounding reality. At the same time, I remain united in the act of writing and the later work.
