W poniższej pracy magisterskiej mamy na celu przeprowadzenie analizy krytycznej wybranych fragmentów powieści Solaris Stanisława Lema w tłumaczeniu Teresy Fernandes Świątkiewicz. Praca, która składa się z pięciu rozdziałów, została podzielona na część teoretyczną oraz praktyczną. W pierwszej z nich skupiono się na samym autorze książki, Stanisławie Lemie oraz odbiorze jego twórczości zarówno na polskim, jak i zagranicznym rynku, w szczególności w krajach portugalskojęzycznych. Określono ponadto charakter literatury science fiction i ukazano ewolucję tego gatunku. W następnym rozdziale jako narzędzia badawcze zostały przybliżone procedury krytyczne i tendencje deformacyjne Antoine’a Bermana oraz strategie przekładu opracowane przez Prof. Jerzego Brzozowskiego. Postarano się przybliżyć postać tłumaczki, ukazując, między innymi, jej projekt tłumaczeniowy. Część analityczna została podzielona na cztery podrozdziały, w których skupiono się na wybranych kwestiach, mogących sprawić największe trudności w tłumaczeniu książki. Należą do nich: neologizmy, warstwa akustyczna powieści, duża różnorodność kolorystyczna, jak i metafory oraz związki frazeologiczne.

In the following master's thesis, we aim to conduct a critical analysis of selected excerpts from Stanisław Lem's novel Solaris, translated by Teresa Fernandes Świątkiewicz. The work, which consists of five chapters, has been divided into theoretical and practical parts. In the first of them, the focus was on the author of the book, Stanisław Lem, and the reception of his work both on the Polish and foreign markets, especially in Portuguese-speaking countries. Moreover, we determined the nature of science fiction literature and showed the evolution of this genre. Furthermore, the critical procedures and deformation tendencies of Antoine Berman and the translation strategies developed by Prof. Jerzy Brzozowski were presented as the research tools. We also tried to introduce the translator, showing, among other things, her translation project regarding Solaris. The analytical part has been divided into four sections, which focus on selected issues that might have caused the greatest difficulties in translating the novel. These include neologisms, the acoustic layer of the novel, a large variety of colors, as well as metaphors and idioms.

Na presente dissertação de mestrado, pretendemos realizar uma análise crítica de excertos selecionados do romance Solaris, de Stanisław Lem, traduzido por Teresa Fernandes Świątkiewicz. O trabalho, composto por cinco capítulos, foi dividido na parte teórica e na parte prática. No primeiro delas, foi apresentado o autor do livro, Stanisław Lem, bem como a receção da sua criação literária tanto no mercado polaco como no estrangeiro, especialmente nos países de língua portuguesa. Além disso, foram examinados de perto as características principais da literatura de ficção científica, bem como a evolução desse gênero. Em seguida, foram aproximadas ao leitor as ferramentas de pesquisa na forma dos procedimentos críticos e tendências deformadoras de Antoine Berman, bem como as estratégias de tradução desenvolvidas pelo Prof. Jerzy Brzozowski. Procurou-se apresentar a figura da tradutora, mostrando, entre outros, o seu projeto de tradução de Solaris. A parte analítica foi dividida em quatro seções, que se concentraram em questões que poderiam causar as maiores dificuldades na tradução do romance: neologismos, a camada acústica do romance, uma grande variedade de cores, metáforas e relações fraseológicas.
