An Analysis of the Patients Register of the Order of the Brothers Hospitallers - Liber Inscriptorum Infimorum sub Regimine Patris Fratris Caroli Krupski Hospitali S. Ursulae Conventus Cracoviensis, with consideration of the history of clothing.

Tematem pracy jest Analiza Ksiąg Chorych zakonu bonifratrów - Liber Inscriptorum Infirmorum Sub Raegimine Patris Fratris Caroli Krupski Hospitali S. Ursulae Conventus Cracoviensis ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem historii stroju. W I rozdziale scharakteryzowano początki działalności i specyfike zakonu Bonifratrów w Rzeczypospolitej i w Europie z wyróżnieniem postaci św. Jana Bożego założyciela konwentu bonifratrów. W II rozdziale przeprowadzono studium źródła, skupiając się na charakterystyce zewnętrznej i wewnętrznej dokumentacji. III rozdział został poświęcony analizie Ksiąg Chorych za pomocą metod statystycznych (tabele, wykresy), co pozwoliło zobrazować historię strojów warstw uboższych w XVII wieku. Praca jest wstępem do dalszych badań nad Księgami Chorych zakonu bonifratrów.

The subject of this thesis is an analysis of the Patients’s Register of the Order of the Brothers Hospitallers Liber Inscriptorum Infirmorum Sub Raegimine Patris Fratris Caroli Krupski Hospitali S. Ursulae Conventus Cracoviensis, with particular emphasis on the history of clothing. Chapter I characterizes the beginnings and specific features of the Order of the Brothers Hospitallers in Poland and Europe, with particular emphasis on the figure of St. Hohn of God, the pounder of the order. Chapter II presents a sources study focusing on the external and internal characteristics of the documentation. Chapter III is devoted to the analysis of the Patients’s Register using statistical methods (tables, graphs), which made it possible to illustrate the history of clothing among the lower social classes in the 17th century. This study serves as an introduction to further research on the Patients’s Register of the Brothers Hospitallers.
