Femme Fatale’s Film Myth

W pracy magisterskiej „Filmowy mit femme fatale” przeanalizowane zostały najbardziej wyraziste postaci kobiet fatalnych – począwszy od pierwszych wampów z pierwszych dekad kinematografii aż po czasy współczesne. Analiza ta została przeprowadzona w celu ukazania tematu w szerszej perspektywie. W pierwszej kolejności omówiono pojęcie fantazmatu istotne dla poruszanego zagadnienia. Następnie ukazano kobietę fatalną w kontekście teorii feministycznej, gdzie podkreśla się sprowadzenie tego typu postaci do walorów ekspozycyjnych. Dla pełniejszego zobrazowania tematyki poszerzono analizę złych kobiet o przykłady z literatury i sztuki XIX wieku. Kolejno zanalizowane zostały wizerunki femme fatale w kinie niemym, filmach czarnej serii i fimach neo-noir stanowiących kontynuację i zarazem obraz ewolucji w prezentacji wizerunku femme fatale. Zmieniające się tendencje w przedstawianiu kobiety fatalnej scharakteryzowano odnosząc się do tła historycznego oraz przemian społecznych zachodzących w różnych okresach.

In the master’s thesis “Femme Fatale’s Film Myth” the most outstanding femmes fatales were analysed, starting from the first film decades’ vamps to current times. The analysis was conducted to present the topic in a broader perspective. First, it was the phantasm concept that was described. Then, a femme fatale was shown in the context of the feminist theory, which underlines the reduction of such a character to the exposition qualities. For the full description of the topic the research was extended to descriptions of the evil women from the literature and art from the 19th century. The images of the femme fatale from the silent cinema, films noirs and films neo-noirs (which exist as a continuation, as well as the evolution of the femme fatale image) were described successively. The changing inclinations in the femme fatale’s representations were characterised accordingly to the evolving historical background and social transformations in different periods.
