Postmodern strategies in the superhero cinema. Marvel Comics adaptations

Celem pracy jest rozpatrzenie współczesnego kina superbohaterskiego z estetyką postmodernistyczną. Autor tłumaczy fenomen gatunku filmów komiksowych przez wpisanie ich w późnokapitalistyczne formy narracyjne. Analizie poddano gatunek pod względem zarówno cech formalnych, jak i tekstualnych. Studia przypadku obejmują czołowe filmy superbohaterskie ostatnich lat, powstałe na podstawie komiksów Marvela: „Avengers: Wojna bez granic”, „Spider-Man Uniwersum”, „Spider-Man: Bez drogi do domu” oraz „Deadpool”. Zostają one odczytane przez autora przez pryzmat postmodernizmu. Zwrócono uwagę na ich transmedialny charakter.. Szczególną uwagę autor poświęca dialogowi intertekstualnemu, ironii, autotematyzmowi oraz sztucznym światom.

The aim of this paper is to reflect on superhero movies in the context of postmodern aesthetic. The author explains the phenomenon of the comic movies by inscribing them in late capitalist forms of narration. The genre is analyzed in terms of formal and textual features. Analysis is based on case studies of the leading superhero films of recent years, based on the Marvel comics: “Avengers: Infinity War”, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “Deadpool”. They are read by the author through the prism of postmodern features. Attention is drawn to their transmedial nature. The author pays special attention to intertextual dialogue, irony, self-referentiality and artificial worlds.
