From ancient times, human personality and its complexity has often been deeplyanalysed. However, the many ways in which this topic was presented differed greatly,dependant on the type of literature used to describe it. This essay aims to show theschematics in creating a personality of a main character in lyric, epic and drama. Usingwritings of ancient poets and philosophers as well as scientific materials, the authorof this essay shows that the perception of ethos and the way it is presented, has evolved.The personality of a main character is a combination of a set of characteristics that doesnot transform on its own and it’s development is only possible under the influenceof specific events.
