Zgwałcenie jest dla ofiary traumatycznym przeżyciem, które w niewyobrażalny wręcz sposób oddziałuje na fizyczną i psychiczną sferę człowieka, a co gorsze, może łączyć się ze społecznym napiętnowaniem osoby pokrzywdzonej. Dzieje się tak za sprawą powszechnych w naszym społeczeństwie "mitów" i stereotypów, które zakładają obwiniane osoby pokrzywdzonej oraz usprawiedliwianie gwałciciela. Szczególnie trudnym zagadnieniem są zgwałcenia, których ofiarą jest mężczyzna, gdyż ten temat nadal stanowi społeczne tabu. Autorka artykułu przeprowadziła ankietę wśród uczniów, losowej grupy społeczeństwa, prokuratorów i policjantów na temat ich opinii w kwestii tej trudnej i złożonej problematyki, a wyniki badań omówiła szczegółowo w tekście.

Rape is a traumatic experience that in an unimaginable way violates the intimate sphere of a human being, not only harms victims physically, but also drastically affects their psyche. The effects of this crime can be long-term, involving emotional pain and social stigma. The main reasons of unfair treatment of victims are rape-related myths and stereotypes (e.g. blaming the victim and justifying the rapist) popular in our society. Male rape victims report a lack of services and support - because the topic still is a social taboo. The author conducted surveys among students, a random group of society, prosecutors and police officers about their opinion on this difficult and complex issue. The results of research are discussed in the text.
