A woman's view of Bertolt Brecht in the Polish People's Republic: Lidia Zamkow, Irena Babel, Ida Kamińska

Praca licencjacka pod tytułem Kobiece spojrzenie na Bertolta Brechta w Polskiej Rzeczpospolitej Ludowej: Lidia Zamkow, Irena Babel, Ida Kamińska, przedstawia kobiece inscenizacje dramatów Bertolta Brechta w teatrze PRL. Oparta jest na przykładzie twórczości trzech reżyserek: Lidii Zamkow, Ireny Babel, Idy Kamińskiej. W pracy opisuję monografie artystek, porównuje ich twórczość oraz nakreślam cechy charakterystyczne. Odtwarzam przebieg i odbiór spektakli reżyserek za pomocą zachowanych recenzji. Odnalezienie recenzji spektakli ułatwiła mi platforma internetowa Hypatia.pl, na której znajdują się szerokie archiwa o pracach teatralnych kobiecych twórczyń. Dodatkowo w pracy analizuję jak zmieniała się recepcja Bertolta Brechta w PRL-u oraz uwzględniam współczesne spojrzenie.

The work presents female productions of Bertolt Brecht's dramas in the theater of the Polish People's Republic. It focuses on the works of three directors: Lidia Zamkow, Irena Babel, and Ida Kamińska. In the study, I describe the monographs of these artists, compare their works, and outline their characteristic features. I reconstruct the course and reception of the directors' performances using preserved reviews. The discovery of these reviews was facilitated by the online platform Hypatia.pl, which contains extensive archives on the theatrical works of female creators. Furthermore, in the work, I analyze how the reception of Brecht changed in the PRL and consider contemporary perspectives.
