Perception of phenomenon of stalking by the youth of the junior high-school – causes and conditions

Stalking jest jedną z form przestępczości, która powstała w ciągu ostatnich lat i wciąż się rozwija. Ogólnie ujmując jest to rodzaj przemocy emocjonalnej, w której sprawca, w sposób niepożądany przez ofiarę, celowo narusza jej prywatność, wywołując u niej lęk, strach bądź niepokój. Zarówno ofiarą, jak i sprawcą stalkingu może być każdy. Do grupy szczególnego ryzyka należą osoby młode, będące w czasie dorastania. Dla adolescentów jest to trudny okres, bowiem muszą zmierzyć się z wieloma nowymi problemami i zadaniami przygotowującymi ich do dorosłości. Przez to mogą zarówno sprawiać trudności wychowawcze, jak i stać się osobami szczególnie podatnymi na doświadczanie zachowań agresywnych. Celem badań było przedstawienie zjawiska stalkingu w percepcji młodzieży gimnazjalnej, z uwzględnieniem analizy wpływu wybranych cech osobowych oraz sytuacji rodzinnej i edukacyjnej badanych na prezentowane przez nich postawy wobec omawianego zjawiska. Wyniki testów niezależności chi-kwadrat oraz testów rangowych U Manna-Whitneya w trzech przypadkach wykazały istotną statystycznie zależność między zmiennymi i był to: wpływ poziomu samooceny osób badanych na doświadczanie przez nich zachowań mogących posiadać znamiona stalkingu, wpływ poczucia izolacji gimnazjalistów na doświadczanie przez nich zachowań mogących posiadać znamiona omawianego przestępstwa oraz wpływ deklarowanej jakości relacji między członkami rodziny badanych na prowokowanie przez nich sytuacji wiążących się z omawianym zjawiskiem. Przeprowadzone badania wykazały więc, że młodzież gimnazjalna, choć jeszcze w młodym wieku, już ma do czynienia z zachowaniami mogącymi przejawiać pewne cechy przestępstwa stalkingu.

Stalking is a form of crime, that has came into being in the past few years and is still developing. Generally speaking, stalking is a kind of emotional violence in which perpetrator violates the privacy of the victim in an objectionable way, causing fear and anxiety. Just about anybody can become the perpetrator or the victim of stalking. Especially the young people in the adolescence time are at risk. For them it is a hard time of many new problems and challenges preparing them for adulthood. It's also very possible that it may cause them to make pedagogical difficulties or even make them vulnerable to aggressive behavior. This survey's purpose is to present the phenomenon of stalking in perception of the youth in junior high-school, by taking into account the analysis of the impact on their attitude to the discussed phenomenon, caused by selected personality traits or even family and educational situation. The Chi-Square independence's tests and U Mann-Whitney rank tests results has given statistically important dependence between the variables in three cases, which were: examined people's self-esteem and it's impact on the behaviors experienced by them that may have the marks of stalking, sense of the isolation by the young people and it's impact on the experienced by them behaviors that may have marks of discussed crime, impact of relationship between family members on the situations provoked by the youth that may have the marks of discussed phenomenon. Conducted research shows, that despite the young age, the youth of the junior high-school already have to deal with behaviors that may manifest certain traits of crime of stalking.
