Illustrative material in selected Polish gossip portals. A content analysis.

Portale plotkarskie stanowią popularne źródło informacji dla dużego grona osób, a ich popularność i sukces często zależy od atrakcyjności zaprezentowanego materiału ilustracyjnego. Niniejsza praca skupia się na analizie materiału ilustracyjnego w portalachplotkarskich oraz jego roli i wpływie na odbiór informacji. Praca koncentruję się na różnych aspektach materiału ilustracyjnego, architekturze informacji w portalach i wizualizacji informacji i przekazie informacji. Celem badania jest zbadanie znaczenia i wpływu materiału ilustracyjnego i przekazu informacji w wybranych portalach plotkarskich: Pudelek, Plotek, Plejada. Praca odpowiada na pytanie jakie czynniki wpływają na atrakcyjność i zapadanie w pamięć takiego tekstu. W ramach badań została wykorzystana metoda badawcza, jaką jest analiza treści oraz obserwacje. Wyniki tej pracy mają wzbogacić wiedzę na temat roli materiału ilustracyjnego w portalach plotkarskich, przekazać sposób funkcjonowania takich serwisów i odbiór materiałów dodawanych na stronach plotkarskich. Przeanalizowanie tej tematyki ma praktyczne zastosowanie, określa bowiem co to są angażujące treści, dostosowane do oczekiwań i preferencji czytelników portali plotkarskich.

Gossip portals are a popular source of information for a large number of people, and their popularity and success often depend on the attractiveness of the illustrative material presented. This paper focuses on the analysis of illustrative material in gossip portals and its role and influence on the reception of information. I focus the work on various aspects of illustrative material, information architecture in portals and information visualization and transmission of information. The purpose of the study is to investigate the importance and influence of illustrative material and information transmission in selected gossip portals: Pudelek.pl,Plotek.pl, Plejada.pl. The work answers the question of what factors affect the attractiveness and memorability of such text. The research used the research method of content analysis and observation. The results of this work are expected to enrich the knowledge of the role of illustrative material in gossip sites, convey the way such site’s function, and the reception of materials added to gossip sites. Analyzing this topic has practical applications, as it determines what is engaging content, tailored to the expectations and preferences of readers of gossip portals.
