Stylistics of writing of Olena Teliha (epithet, comparison)

The subject of this thesis is stylistics of the writing of O. Teliha, which I achieved analysing the epithet and the comparison. The aim of the study was separation dominant thematic scopes and most frequent types of individual trail. The presented thesis consist of two chapters. In the first chapter, which is devoted to the issue of epithet, I used the division from the dictionary of literary terms. The analysis of examples showed that poetess uses almost all classical types of epithet, whereas taking the construction of the epithet into consideration adjectival epithets are dominat. Then I isolated the predominant thematic centers from the tested material. Terms used in the function of the adjective are: “color”, “temperature”, “movement” and “size”. While the substantival element of discussed epithets associated with thematic group like: “human”, “natural world”, “things”, “feelings and emotions” and “time of day”. The second chapter conserns the comparison. I used three main thematic center: “nature”, “human” and “creations”. The analysis of tested material showed that names of flying animals and names that are associated with cosmos are dominat in structure of this comparison.Study of the poetry of O. Teliha can be concluded that it is poetry of action. It is full of determine that are connected with fight and hope for the rebirth of Ukraine. The poems contain civil motives and are intimate poetry at the same time. It is the encouragement to action and belief in the strength of the nation. The poetess style are characterized mainly by individualism.

Tematem niniejszej pracy jest stylistyka twórczości O. Telihy, której dokonałam na podstawie analizy dwóch tropów, epitetu i porównania. Celem pracy było wyodrębnienie dominujących pól tematycznych oraz najliczniejszych typów poszczególnych tropów. Przedstawiona praca składa się z dwóch rozdziałów. W rozdziale pierwszym, poświęconym zagadnieniu epitetu, zastosowałam podział proponowany przez słownik terminów literackich. Analiza przykładów wykazała, że biorąc pod uwagę samą budowę, dominują epitety przymiotnikowe, natomiast rozpatrując je pod względem walorów artystycznych, poetka wykorzystuje prawie wszystkie klasyczne typy. Następnie wyodrębniłam centra tematyczne, które przeważają w badanym materiale. Wśród określeń używanych w funkcji przymiotnika są to: „barwa”, „temperatura”, „ruch” oraz „rozmiar”. Natomiast element rzeczownikowy omawianych epitetów wpisuje się w następujące grupy tematyczne: „człowiek”, „świat przyrody”, „przedmioty”, „uczucia i emocje” oraz „pory dnia”. Rozdział drugi dotyczy porównania. Zastosowałam w nim podział na trzy główne centra tematyczne: „przyroda”, „człowiek” i „wytwory”. Analiza badanego materiału pozwoliła dostrzec w strukturze tego środka stylistycznego dominację przede wszystkim nazw zwierząt „latających” oraz nazw związanych z „kosmosem”. Zbadanie całej poezji O. Telihy pozwala na wysunięcie wniosków, że jest to poezja czynu. Nie brakuje w niej określeń związanych z walką oraz nadzieją na odrodzenie się Ukrainy. Jest zachęta do działania i wiara w siły narodu. Wiersze zawierają w sobie motywy obywatelskie, będąc jednocześnie liryką intymną. Styl poetki charakteryzuje przede wszystkim indywidualizm.
