The Ottoman Aviation between 1912-1918 based on Turkish and European sources

Dzieje tureckiego lotnictwa, zwłaszcza w okresie osmańskim, są nieznane polskiemu czytelnikowi. Celem niniejszej pracy było więc przedstawienie w oparciu o źródła tureckie i europejskie historii Osmańskich Sił Powietrznych u schyłku Imperium, od wojen bałkańskich do końca pierwszej wojny światowej, czyli w latach 1912-1918. Najważniejszą część pracy stanowią lata Wielkiej Wojny, w której tureckie lotnictwo zmagało się z Aliantami na południowo-wschodnio-europejskim i bliskowschodnim teatrze działań wojennych – na Kaukazie, nad Morzem Czarnym, w rejonie Dardaneli, nad Morzem Egejskim, w basenie Morza Śródziemnego, na Synaju, w Palestynie, Hidżazie, Mezopotamii oraz Persji.

History of Turkish aviation, especially of its Ottoman period is unknown to the Polish reader. Thus, the purpose of this thesis is to present the story of the Ottoman Air Force in the last period of the falling Empire between 1912-1918 and based on Turkish and European source material. The years of the Great War constitute the most significant part of this work. During that time the Turkish aviation fought against the Allies on the south-east European and Middle Eastern theatre of war that is in the Caucasus, the Black Sea, the Dardanelles, the Turkish coast of the Mediterranean Sea, the Sinai desert, Palestine, the Hejaz, Mesopotamia and Persia.
