Praca dotyczy przedstawienia miłości w Dzienniku Witolda Gombrowicza. Analizując fragmenty Dziennika, w których narrator tematyzuje zakochanie, oczarowanie, romantyczne relacje oraz samą miłość, zwracam uwagę na łączący je w ocenie mówiącego nieetyczny charakter. Pokazuję, jak miłość ujmowana zostaje wobec zagadnień sztuki, autentyczności oraz piękna, kontekstowo czerpiąc z wybranych zachodnich koncepcji miłości. Staram się także dać obraz bolesnemu rozdarciu, które w podmiocie Dziennika spowodowane jest nieprzystawalnością skażonej przemocą i sztucznością miłości do jej upragnionej wizji jako czystej wartości.

The paper examines the portrayal of love in Witold Gombrowicz's Diary. By analyzing the sections of the Diary where the narrator addresses themes of infatuation, enchantment, romantic relationships and love itself, I focus on the unethical nature that connects them in the speaker's assessment. I demonstrate how love is framed in relation to issues of art, authenticity and beauty, contextually drawing on selected Western concepts of love. Additionally, I aim to depict the painful inner conflict experienced by the narrator, which arises from the incompatibility between love tainted by violence and artificiality and its desired vision as a pure value.
