The influence of sanatorium treatment under foothill climate conditions to the quality of life of children with bronchial asthma.

Astma oskrzelowa jest jedną z najczęściej występujących chorób przewlekłych u dzieci. Jej wpływ na codzienne funkcjonowanie przekłada się ściśle na jakość życia dzieci. Na podstawie badania ankietowego dokonano oceny jakości życia dzieci z astmą oskrzelową po przebyciu leczenia sanatoryjnego w warunkach klimatu podgórskiego. Badaniem objęto grupę 90 dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym (3-7 lat) leczonych z powodu astmy oskrzelowej, przebywających na leczeniu sanatoryjnym w Uzdrowisku Rymanów Zdrój w okresie od stycznia do kwietnia 2013 roku. Pracę oparto na subiektywnej ocenie opiekunów. Otrzymane wyniki zanalizowano pod kątem wpływu choroby na życie codzienne dziecka oraz stanu zdrowia i jakości życia dziecka przed i po pobycie w sanatorium. W przeprowadzonych badaniach własnych wykazano, że rehabilitacja uzdrowiskowa znacznie wpłynęła na jakość życia poprzez poprawę wielu parametrów zdrowotnych oraz kondycji psychicznej dzieci.
Bronchial asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases in children. Its influence translates strictly to the children`s quality of life. The analysis of quality of life among children with bronchial asthma after the sanatorium treatment under foothill climate conditions was conducted on the basis of the sample survey. The study included a group of 90 children in the age of preschool (3-7 years) that were treated for bronchial asthma. Children were residing on sanatorium treatment in health resort in Rymanów Zdrój between January and April 2013. The study was based on the subjective valuation of parents/caregivers. The results were analyzed in terms of the impact of the disease on daily life of children and their state of health and quality of life before and after the sanatorium treatment. In the study it has been shown that the health-resort rehabilitation much affected the quality of life by improving a number of health parameters and mental condition of children with bronchial asthma.
