Celem pracy licencjackiej jest przeprowadzenie porównania elementów fantastycznych zawartych w obu dziełach literackich. Niniejsza praca bada i charakteryzuje elementy oraz ich rolę w tekście Hoffmanna w zestawieniu z tekstem Arnima. Praca składa się z wstępu, czterech rozdziałów oraz zakończenia. W pierwszym rozdziale omówione zostało zjawisko fantastyczności oraz jego znaczenie w niemieckim romantyzmie. Autorzy obu dzieł wykorzystują również groteskę, przedstawiając postacie lub wydarzenia fantastyczne, dlatego również to zjawisko zostało bliżej opisane. Końcową część tego rozdziału stanowi krótka charakterystyka tematyki noweli „Isabella z Egiptu” oraz opowiadania „Złoty garnek”.Kolejna część pracy skupia się na wybranych elementach dzieła Arnima. Opisywane postacie posiadają cechy fantastyczności i groteski. Główne omawiane motywy to korzeń mandragory, duchy oraz sobowtór, jak i żydowski golem. Analizowane są również historia i rytuały stworzenia przedstawionych istot, które stanowią kluczowy aspekt fantastyczności. Następny rozdział charakteryzuje elementy opowiadania Hoffmanna, takie jak czarownica, tajemniczy ród archiwariusza Lindhorsta czy magiczne zwierciadło. The goal of this bachelor thesis is to compare the fantastic elements found in both literary works. It examines and describes these elements and their roles in Hoffmann's text versus Arnim's. The thesis is structured with an introduction, four chapters, and a conclusion.In the first chapter, it delves into the concept of the fantastic and its significance in German Romanticism. Both authors employ the grotesque to depict fantastical characters or events, a topic that's explored further. The chapter also briefly outlines the themes of 'Isabella of Egypt' and 'The Golden Pot'.The subsequent section focuses on specific elements in Arnim's work, including characters like the mandrake root, ghosts, doppelgängers, and the Jewish golem. It analyzes their creation and significance within the narrative.The following chapter examines Hoffmann's fairy tales, highlighting elements like witches, the mysterious Lindhorst family, and magical mirrors. It also touches on themes of alchemy and magic.The fourth part compares the magical characters in both works, evaluating their allure, personality, and gender. The analysis considers aspects like romantic irony and how the heroes interact with the fantastical realm.Ultimately, the thesis aims to analyze and contrast the fantastic elements in Arnim's novella and Hoffmann's narrative, exploring their functions and whether they pose threats or enrich the fictional worlds.

Die Bachelorarbeit hat zum Ziel, eine Vergleichsanalyse des Phantastischen in beiden literarischen Werken durchzuführen. Diese Arbeit untersucht und charakterisiert die Elemente sowie ihre Rolle im Text von Hoffmann im Vergleich zu Arnims Text. Die Arbeit besteht aus einer Einleitung, vier Kapiteln und einem Schluss. Im ersten Kapitel wird das Phänomen der Fantastik und seine Bedeutung im deutschen Romantizismus erörtert. Die Autoren beider Werke nutzen auch die Groteske, um fantastische Figuren oder Ereignisse darzustellen, weshalb auch dieses Phänomen näher beschrieben wird. Der abschließende Teil dieses Kapitels umfasst eine kurze Charakterisierung der Thematik der Novelle "Isabella von Ägypten" sowie der Erzählung "Der goldne Topf". Der nächste Abschnitt der Arbeit konzentriert sich auf ausgewählten Elementen in Arnims Werk. Die beschriebenen Figuren weisen Merkmale des Phantastischen und Groteske auf. Die hauptsächlich behandelten Motive sind: das Alraunmännchen, die Geister, der Doppelgänger und der jüdische Golem. Ebenfalls analysiert werden die Geschichte und die Rituale der Erschaffung der dargestellten Wesen, die ein wichtiger Aspekt des Phantastischen sind. Das nächste Kapitel charakterisiert die Elemente von Hoffmanns Märchen, wie die Hexe, die geheimnisvolle Familie des Archivars Lindhorst oder der magische Spiegel. Ebenfalls dargestellt wird das Motiv der Alchemie und Magie. Der vierte Teil der Arbeit basiert auf den genannten Beispielen fantastischer Elemente mit dem Ziel, die dargestellten magischen Figuren zu vergleichen und hinsichtlich ihrer Verführungskraft, Charakter und Geschlecht zu bewerten. Bei der Analyse wurden insbesondere die romantische Ironie, die dargestellte Welt in beiden Werken sowie der Zugang der Helden zur fantastischen Sphäre berücksichtigt.Das Ziel der Arbeit bestand darin, die fantastischen Elemente in der Novelle von Arnim und der Erzählung von Hoffmann zu analysieren und zu vergleichen, sowohl in Bezug auf ihre Funktion als auch darauf zu überlegen, ob sie eine Bedrohung für die Helden darstellen oder eher die Welt der Fiktion bereichern und bereichern.
