Kibbutzim - the idealistic Zionist vision and the reality shown in selected examples of memoir literature.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest porównanie kibucu, jaki wyłania się z idealistycznej wizji syjonistycznej z rzeczywistością ukazaną w wybranych przykładach literatury wspomnieniowej. Na pracę składają się wstęp, rys historyczny, trzy rozdziały, zakończenie, rozbudowany aneks oraz bibliografia. We wstępie zawarty został plan pracy oraz stan badań dotyczący omawianego zagadnienia. W rysie historycznym znalazły się podstawowe informacje na temat czołowych postaci syjonizmu, samego ruchu oraz nierozerwalnie związanej z nim idei żydowskiego kolektywu. Pierwszy rozdział poświęcono książce Jael Neeman "Byliśmy przyszłością", w której izraelska autorka odsłania realia życia w kibucu Jechiam z perspektywy wychowanego tam dziecka. Rozdział drugi przedstawia punkt widzenia Amosa Oza, opisującego w autobiograficznej powieści "Opowieść o miłości i mroku" swoje dorastanie we wspólnocie Chulda. W trzecim rozdziale ukazano przemyślenia Görana Rosenberga, który w książce "Kraj utracony. Moja historia Izraela" prezentuje własny stosunek do państwa żydowskiego, jego ideologii, ruchu kibucowego, twórców i propagatorów syjonizmu oraz konfliktu izraelsko-arabskiego. W zakończeniu opisano wnioski końcowe, które dodatkowo wzbogacono próbą usystematyzowania stanowisk trojga omawianych tu twórców wobec kibuców, przedstawiając różnice i podobieństwa w doświadczeniach tych pisarzy. W pierwszej części aneksu znalazły się fragmenty wywiadu przeprowadzonego w formie online przez autorkę niniejszej pracy z Jael Neeman, której twórczość przeanalizowano w pierwszym rozdziale. W drugiej części aneksu zamieszczone zostały fotografie udostępnione przez Jael Neeman, ilustrujące poszczególne etapy jej życia w kibucu Jechiam. Końcowa bibliografia stanowi uporządkowany zbiór literatury wykorzystanej do napisania pracy.

The aim of this thesis is to compare the kibbutz from the idealistic Zionist vision with the reality shown in selected examples of memoir literature. The thesis consists of an introduction, a historical outline, three chapters, a conclusion, an extensive appendix and a bibliography. The introduction contains the plan of the thesis and the state of research regarding the discussed issue. The historical outline contains basic information about the leading figures of Zionism, the movement itself and the idea of a Jewish collective that is inextricably linked to it. The first chapter analyses memories contained in Yael Neeman's book "We Were the Future", in which the Israeli author reveals the reality of life in Kibbutz Yechiam from the perspective of a child who grew up there. Chapter two presents the point of view of Amos Oz, who describes his growing up in the Chulda community in his autobiographical novel "A Tale of Love and Darkness". The third chapter focuses on Göran Rosenberg’s "The Lost Land. My history of Israel", which presents the author’s attitude to the Jewish state, its ideology, the kibbutz movement, the creators and propagators of Zionism, and the Israeli-Arab conflict. The final conclusions are enriched with an attempt to systematize the views on kibbutzim held by the three authors discussed here, presenting the differences and similarities in their experiences. The first part of the appendix contains fragments of an online interview conducted by the author of this thesis with Yael Neeman, whose book is analysed in the first chapter. The second part comprises photographs provided by Yael Neeman to illustrate various stages of her life in Kibbutz Yechiam. The bibliography is an ordered collection of literature used in writing this thesis.
