The problematic, structural and stylistic aspects of the first book of Lactantius' “Divine Institutes”.

Niniejsza praca poświęcona została problemowym, strukturalnym i stylistycznym aspektom pierwszej księgi "Boskich Pouczeń" - największego i najważniejszego dzieła w literackim dorobku Laktancjusza, chrześcijańskiego autora łacińskiego z przełomu III i IV w., ucznia mówcy Arnobiusza, nauczyciela retoryki na dworze cesarskim w Nikomedii i wychowawcy syna cesarza Konstantyna Wielkiego Kryspusa.Praca składa się z czterech części. Pierwsza poświęcona została życiu i twórczości Laktancjusza ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem "Boskich Pouczeń". W części drugiej zamieszczono analizę strukturalno-treściową księgi pierwszej wspomnianego dzieła, a jej przekład, opatrzony szczegółowymi przypisami, znalazł się w części trzeciej. W ostatniej, czwartej części pracy zaprezentowano analizę stylistyczną tekstu księgi pierwszej opartą na licznych przykładach. Całość zamyka bibliografia zawierająca wszystkie najważniejsze opracowania dotyczące zagadnień poruszanych w niniejszej pracy.

The following thesis is devoted to the problematic, structural and stylistic aspects of the first book of "Divine Institutes" which is the major and the most important work in literal output of Lactantius - Christian Latin author who lived at the turn of III and IV centuries. He was student of rhetorician Arnobius, teacher of rhetoric at imperial court in Nicomedia and educator of Crispus, son of Emperor Constantine.Thesis contains of four parts. The first has been devoted to life and works of Lactantius along with special consideration of "Divine Institutes". In the second part the analysis of structural and content aspects of the first book of the work mentioned has been given. It's translation together with detailed annotations is concluded in the third part. In the last, fourth part one is able to find the stylistic analysis of the text of the first book based on numerous instances. As a whole this thesis ends with bibliography which contains all major papers as regards the issues discussed in the thesis.
