Posthumanism. The issue of subject and media in the thought of Gilles Deleuze’s and Felix Guattari’s

Celem pracy było ukazanie zarysu myśli posthumanistycznej jako nowej narracji intelektualnej, która adekwatna jest do współczesnej kondycji ludzkiej. Porusza się po problemach takich jak; antropocentryzm, relacja człowieka z technologią czy upadek Natury. Szczególny nacisk położony jest na filozofię Gillesa Deleuze’a i Felixa Guattariego, która ze względu na swoją elastyczność jest w stanie ująć pojęciowo złożone procesy naszej rzeczywistości. W rozdziale pierwszym przedstawiono krótką charakterystykę humanizmu i antyhumanizmu. Rozdział drugi dotyczy podstawowych problemów posthumanizmu takich jak antropocentryzm czy różnica względem transhumanizmu. W rozdziale trzecim zarysowana jest myśl Gilles’a Deleuze’a i Felixa Guattariego z naciskiem na wyjaśnienie takich pojęć jak: kłącze, maszynizm czy Ciało bez Organów. Kolejny rozdział dotyczy koncepcji posthumanistycznej podmiotowości na przykładzie sztuki Stelarca i duetu artystycznego Art Orienté Objet. Rozdział piąty porusza problem mediów w ujęciu odmiennym od Marshala McLuhana. Media tu przedstawione nie są przedłużeniem człowieka tylko nie-ludzkich afektywnych procesów.

The aim of this study was to show the outline of posthumanism as a new intellectual narrative that is adequate to the contemporary human condition. It relates to the issues such as; anthropocentrism, human relationship with technology and the end of the nature. Particular emphasis is placed on the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari. Due to its flexibility in being able to grasp conceptually, complex processes of our reality, this philosophy seems to be most apropriate for this study.Chapter One introduces short profile of humanism and antihumanism. Chapter Two concentrates on basic problems of posthumanism like the differences between anthropocentrism and transhumanism. Chapter Three outlines the thought of Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari with an emphasis on explaining concepts like rhizome, machinology and the Body without Organs. The next chapter deals with the concept of subjectivity on example of Stelarc's art and artistic duo Art Oriente Objet. Chapter five discusses the problem of the media in terms different to Marshall McLuhan. Media are presented here are not the extension of the human being, but as a non-human affective processes.
