The process of consolidation in the Polish banking sector basing on the merger of Bank Zachodni WBK and Kredyt Bank

Celem niniejszej pracy jest przeprowadzenie analizy procesu konsolidacyjnego w polskim sektorze bankowym na przykładzie fuzji Banku Zachodniego WBK i Kredyt Banku oraz określenie jej celów, przebiegu i efektów. Całość pracy składa się z trzech części. Rozdział pierwszy przedstawia proces konsolidacji na tle współpracy gospodarczej przedsiębiorstw. Rozdział drugi to charakterystyka konsolidacji polskiego sektora bankowego. Rozdział trzeci przedstawia analizę procesu konsolidacyjnego, uwzględniając jego poszczególne elementy.Praca powstała w oparciu o ogólnodostępną literaturę przedmiotu, akty prawne, publikacje internetowe oraz raporty z badań, obserwację pośrednią i przeprowadzoną ankietę wśród klientów połączonych banków.

The purpose of this Bachelor Thesis is to analyze a consolidation process of Polish banking sector basing on the merger of Bank Zachodni WBK and Kredyt Bank and to define its purposes, trajectory and effects. The first chapter depicts the process of consolidation against the background of economic cooperation of enterprises. The second chapter describes the proces of consolidation of the Polish banking sector. The third chapter depicts an analysis of the consolidation process, taking into account its participants, themes and objectives, process, context diagnosist and assessment of efects.The Bachelor Thesis is based on communal literature on the subject, legislations, websites, research reports, indirect observation and survey distributed among clients of the two consolidated banks.
