The linguistic aspect of emotions in children with and without cerebral palsy - a comparative analysis

Niniejsza praca magisterska opisuje język emocji dzieci dotkniętych mózgowym porażeniem dziecięcym za pomocą Komunikacji Alternatywnej oraz sposobu nazywania ich przez normatywnych rówieśników. Na wstępie przybliżona została literatura specjalistyczna opisująca znaczenie komunikacji w życiu społecznym, etiologię i skutki mózgowego porażenia dziecięcego wraz z charakterystyką mowy. Opisana została także komunikacja alternatywna. W dalszej części pracy opisano wybraną metodologię badawczą, która stanowiła fundament przeprowadzonych badań. Autorka opisuje swoje autorskie narzędzie badawcze, a następnie przedstawia rezultaty badań przeprowadzonych udziałem dwojga dzieci - z mózgowym porażeniem dziecięcym posługującym się Komunikacją Alternatywną oraz mówiącym. Praca zakończona jest przedstawieniem rezultatów badań oraz odpowiedzią na pytania badawcze postawione na początku pracy.

The present thesis explores the emotional expression of children suffering from cerebral palsy through alternative communication, as well as the communication methods of their neurotypical peers. The study presents the subject by analysing academic literature examining the importance of communication in social life and describing childhood cerebral palsy. Presented information includes the causes of the disease, its symptoms, and alternative forms of communication. The analysis is then followed by the chosen research methodology. The author delves into their original research model and examines the results obtained through working with a child affected by cerebral palsy, who uses both alternative communications and traditional speech. The study is concluded by answering the main problem statement.
