Airbnb price prediction using machine learning

W pracy zbadano problem wyceny ofert na platformie Airbnb, która umożliwia wynajem miejsc noclegowych. Celem było rozwiązanie wyzwań związanych z porównywaniem cen ofert na Airbnb oraz przewidywaniem cen wynajmu nieruchomości. Zastosowano wybrane metody uczenia maszynowego do analizy danych pochodzących z InsideAirbnb oraz oceny ich wpływu na wycenę ofert. Konkretnie wybrano regresję liniową z regularyzacją oraz lasy losowe jako algorytmy uczenia maszynowego do przewidywania cen. Praca obejmowała porównanie wyników uzyskanych z różnych algorytmów i wybranych miast, a także identyfikację optymalnych parametrów wejściowych dla osiągnięcia precyzyjnych przewidywań cen.

This study addresses the problem of pricing listings on the Airbnb platform, which enables the rental of accommodations. The objective of this research was to tackle the challenges of comparing listing prices on Airbnb and predicting rental property prices. To achieve this, machine learning methods were employed to analyze data from InsideAirbnb and assess their impact on pricing. Specifically, linear regression with regularization and random forests were selected as the machine learning algorithms for price prediction. The study involved comparing results obtained from different algorithms and selected cities, as well as identifying optimal input parameters for achieving highly accurate price predictions.
