Innovations in polish psychotherapy on the example of Dance Movement Therapy

Niniejsza praca ma na celu scharakteryzowanie stanu w jakim znajduje się polski system lecznictwa psychiatrycznego oraz opisanie specyfiki innowacyjnego nurtu psychoterapeutycznego jakim jest Dance Movement Therapy. Analizie poddane zostały bariery w zastosowaniu metody DMT oraz skuteczność metody. Narzędziem badawczym zastosowanym na potrzeby pracy był ustrukturyzowany wywiad ze specjalistami w tej dziedzinie. Z przeprowadzonych badań wynikło, że zgodnie z założeniami, wprowadzenie innowacyjnych form terapii do polskiej psychoterapii jest konieczne, a sam sektor opieki zdrowia psychicznego wymaga radykalnych zmian. Kluczową potrzebą jest uznanie metody Dance Movement Therapy przez Polskie Towarzystwo Psychiatryczne.

The aim of this study is to characterize the state of the polish psychiatric treatment system and to describe the specificity of an innovative psychotherapeutic method - Dance Movement Therapy. Barriers to the use of DMT and the effectiveness of the method are analyzed. The research tool used in this study was a structured interview with specialists in the field. The results of the research show that according to the assumptions, the introduction of innovative forms of therapy to polish psychotherapy is necessary and the mental health care sector itself requires radical changes. A key need is the recognition of the Dance Movement Therapy method by the Polish Psychiatric Association.
