Charakterystyka romantycznego gatunku Schicksalsdrama na przykładzie utworów „Der vierundzwanzigste Februar“ Zachariasa Wernera oraz „Die Ahnfrau“ Franza Grillparzera

Characteristic of romantic fate drama using the example of the works “Der vierundzwanzigste Februar” by Zacharias Werner and “Die Ahnfrau” by Franz Grillparzer

Przedmiotem niniejszej pracy jest nowy gatunek literacki epoki romantyzmu niemieckiego – das Schicksalsdrama (dramat losu/przeznaczenia). W celu wyłonienia i uwidocznienia charakterystycznych cech gatunku przeanalizowane zostają utwory Zachariasa Wernera – „Der vierunzwanzigste Februar” oraz Franza Grillparzera „Die Ahnfrau”. W pracy przedstawione są również różne modele wpływu losu na bohaterów tragedii antycznej, a także jego pojęcie w epoce romantyzmu niemieckiego. Końcowa część pracy poświęcona jest odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy bohaterowie dramatu tego rodzaju podlegają całkowicie z góry ustalonemu losowi, czy sami mają wpływ na swoje postępowanie.

The subject of this BA thesis is a new literary genre of the German Romantic era - Schicksalsdrama (fate drama). In order to identify and highlight the characteristic features of the genre I analyze the works of Zacharias Werner – “Der vierunzwanzigste Februar” and Franz Grillparzer's “Die Ahnfrau”. The thesis also presents various models of the influence of fate on the heroes of ancient tragedy, as well as its concept in the era of German Romanticism. The final part is devoted to answering the question whether the heroes of this type of drama are completely subject to a predetermined fate, or whether they themselves influence their behavior.

Der Gegenstand dieser Bachelorarbeit ist eine neue literarische Gattung der deutschen Romantik – das Schicksalsdrama. Um die charakteristischen Merkmale der Gattung zu identifizieren und hervorzuheben, werden die Werke von Zacharias Werner – „Der vierunzwanzigste Februar“ und Franz Grillparzer – „Die Ahnfrau“ analysiert. Die Arbeit präsentiert auch verschiedene Modelle des Einflusses des Schicksals auf die Helden der antiken Tragödie. Der letzte Teil der Arbeit widmet sich der Beantwortung der Frage, ob die Figuren des Schicksalsdramas vollständig einem vorbestimmten Schicksal unterworfen sind oder selbst ihr Verhalten beeinflussen.
