The primary objective of my work focuses on the basic information connected with the Euroregion “Tatry”. The work includes the way of formation the Euroregion and explains functions of the basic mechanisms and documents of Euroregion “Tatry”. I have divided this subject on three chapters. In the first one I show regulations and cooperation between regional and local autonomy. Next chapter is about main activities and descriptions of Euroregions in Europe and in Poland. The last one part I have devoted to Euroregion “Tatry”. I have written about history of the founding, charter, structure and activity, also in this chapter I have tried to find the answer about future of the Euroregion “Tatry”. I have ended this subject with summary and conclusions. Work includes bibliography, list of tables, graphs and photos, and appendix containing a list of attachments.

Celem mojej pracy jest przedstawienie istoty powstania euroregionów, mechanizmów oraz dokumentów dotyczących ich funkcjonowania na podstawie Euroregionu „Tatry”. Niniejszy wstęp poprzedza trzy rozdziały. Pierwszy zawiera regulacje prawne w zakresie współpracy samorządów regionalnych i lokalnych. Rozdział drugi to zarys działalności i krótka charakterystyka Euroregionów w Europie i w Polsce. Rozdział trzeci poświęcony jest Euroregionowi „Tatry”. Prezentuje jego genezę powstania, statut, strukturę i działalność. Jest także próbą odpowiedzi na pytanie o przyszłość tego euroregionu. W dalszej części pracy umieściłam podsumowanie i wnioski końcowe. Załączam również bibliografię, spis tabel, wykresów i zdjęć oraz aneks zawierający spis załączników.
