The translation of Hispanic-American cultural content in dubbing of American and Hispanic-American animated productions intended for young audience

Niniejsza praca dyplomowa skupia się na zagadnieniu dubbingu produkcji przeznaczonych dla młodego odbiorcy ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem problemu przekładu treści kulturowych. Autorka zamierza prześledzić w jaki sposób tłumacz przekazuje wiedzę o kulturze latynoamerykańskiej polskiemu młodemu odbiorcy i zestawia zastosowane techniki z tymi zastosowanymi przez tlumaczy amerykańskich, którym kultura ta jest bliższa. Analiza w pracy została przeprowadzona na podstawie sześciu produkcji: Wojowniczej księżniczki Mai, Vivo, Coco, Aniny, Selmy w Krainie Czarów oraz Podróży Xico. Pierwszy rozdział ma na celu przybliżenie czytelnikowi zagadnienia tłumaczenia audiowizualnego. Autorka podejmuje się definicji tego zagadnienia, która może przysporzyć problemów, następnie przedstawia historię powstania zjawiska, przybliża poszczególne typy tłumaczenia audiowizualnego skupiając się w szczególności na dubbingu. W drugim rozdziale autorka skupia się z kolei na przekazaniu wiedzy dotyczącej przekładu treści kulturowych i dokonuje ich klasyfikacji, a także przedstawia techniki, które pozostają do dyspozycji tłumacza jeśli chodzi o ich przekład. Dalsza część poświęcona jest problemowi przekładu dla dzieci i młodzieży. Autorka dotyka również zjawiska naturalizacji obecnej w polskim dubbingu. W trzecim rozdziale opisana jest metodologia oraz dokonana jest prezentacja analizowanych dzieł. W ostatnim rozdziale przeprowadzona jest analiza tłumaczenia dubbingu sześciu produkcji: trzech, których językiem oryginalnym jest język angielski i trzech, oryginalnie wyprodukowanych w języku hiszpańskim. Analiza ma na celu pokazanie jakimi technikami posługują się tłumacze przekazując treści kulturowe młodemu odbiorcy oraz konsekwencje ich użycia.

The translation of Hispanic-American cultural content in American and Hispanic-American animated productions intended for young audienceThe paper focuses on the issue of dubbing of productions intended for young audiences, with particular emphasis on the problem of translating cultural content. The author intends to trace how the translator passes the knowledge about Latin American culture to a young Polish audience and compares the techniques used with those used by American translators who are closer to this culture. The work analysis was conducted on the basis of six productions: Maya and The Three, Vivo, Coco, Anina, Salma’s Big Wish, and Xico's Journeys.The first chapter aims to familiarize the reader with the issue of audiovisual translation. The author proposes the definition of this issue, which may cause problems, then presents the history of the discribed phenomenon, introduces various types of audiovisual translation while she focuses in particular on dubbing, and also presents trends present in the Polish tradition of audiovisual translatio. In the second chapter, the author focuses on the transfer of knowledge about the translation of cultural content and classifies it, as well as presents the techniques that are available to the translator when it comes to translating them. The next part is devoted to the problem of translation for children and adolescents. The author also touches on the phenomenon of naturalization present in Polish dubbing. The third chapter presents methodology and productions. The final chapter analyzes the translation of dubbing of six productions: three whose original language is English and three, which were originally produced in Spanish. The purpose of the analysis is to show what techniques the translators use to transfer the cultural content to a young recipient and the consequences of their use.

La tesina se enfoca en el tema del doblaje de las producciones destinadas a un público joven, con especial énfasis en el problema de la traducción de los contenidos culturales. La autora pretende rastrear cómo el traductor transmite el conocimiento sobre la cultura latinoamericana a una audiencia polaca joven y compara las técnicas utilizadas con las utilizadas por los traductores estadounidenses más cercanos a esta cultura. El análisis de obra se realizó a partir de seis producciones: Maya y los Tres, Vivo, Coco, Anina, Día de Muertos y El viaje de Xico.El primer capítulo pretende familiarizar al lector con el tema de la traducción audiovisual. La autora propone la definición de este tema, que puede causar problemas, luego presenta la historia del fenómeno descrito, presenta varios tipos de traducción audiovisual enfocándose en particular en el doblaje, y también presenta tendencias presentes en la tradición polaca de la traducción audiovisual. En el segundo capítulo, la autora se centra en la transferencia de conocimientos sobre la traducción de los contenidos culturales y realiza la clasificación, más adelante presenta las técnicas de las que dispone el traductor a la hora de traducirlos. La parte siguiente se dedica al problema de la traducción para niños y adolescentes. El autor también habla del fenómeno de la naturalización presente en el doblaje polaco. El tercer capítulo se centra en la metodología y la presentación de las obras. El último capítulo consta del análisis de la traducción de doblaje de seis producciones: tres cuyo idioma original es el inglés y tres, que fueron producidas originalmente en español. El propósito del análisis es mostrar cuáles son las técnicas utilizadas por los traductores para trasladar el contenido cultural a un destinatario joven y las consecuencias de estas decisiones.
