Procesy embriologiczne w zalążkach gatunku inwazyjnego Impatiens glandulifera
Embryological processes in the genus of invasive species Impatiens glandulifera
Impatiens glandulifera, niecierpek gruczołowaty, gatunek inwazyjny, megasporogeneza, endosperma, haustorium endospermalne
Impatiens glandulifera, invasive species, megasporogenesis, endosperm, endospermal haustorium
We wszystkich analizowanych zalążkach obserwowano zmiany w strukturze integumentu wewnętrznego.
Impatiens glandulifera occurs abundantly in Poland and is classified as an invasive species. Embryological studies of this taxon revealed that bisporic Allium type embryo sacs were formed in a tenuinucellate ovules with two integuments. Changes in the structure of the inner integument were observed in all of the analysed ovules. Cells forming the top part of this integument underwent vacuolization, and were characterized by extremely thick cell walls rich in water-insoluble polysaccharides.Observations point to the presence of two types of endosperm in the analysed individuals. Free nuclei observed in most of the investigated embryo sacs containing endosperm pointed to the nuclear endosperm type. However, the presence of a distinct cell wall in a few female gametophytes, dividing the embryo sac cavity in two chambers, indicted a helobial type of endosperm. In the examined ovules of I. glandulifera, micropylar and chalazal haustoria were observed. The formation of haustoria providing nutrients from the somatic ovule tissues, and thus leading to a better nutrition of the embryo, combined with almost 100% vitality of the embryos, is beneficial for the reproductive success of this invasive species.
