Postoperative care of the patient after cardiosurgical operation of the exchange of the mitral valve

Dział chirurgii jakim jest kardiochirurgia zajmuje się operacyjnym leczeniem serca. Serce zapewnia stały dopływ krwi do wszystkich narządów i tkanek ustroju. W doprowadzaniu krwi nie mogą powstawać żadne przerwy. W następstwie procesu zapalnego najczęściej zmienia się zastawka dwudzielna.Plastyka lub wymiana zastawki mitralnej niesie ze sobą ryzyko dużych powikłań ze strony całego organizmu. Przedstawiono najważniejsze czynności pielęgniarskie wykonywane przy chorym w okresie przed i pooperacyjnym. Opisano ich znaczenie dla prawidłowego przebiegu leczenia i zapobiegania powikłaniom. Omówiono rolę opieki psychologicznej i rehabilitacyjnej. Podkreślono jak ważne jest prawidłowe przygotowanie chorego do zabiegu, a następnie kompleksowa opieka po nim, aby cały czas proces leczenia i rehabilitacji przebiegał zgodnie z oczekiwaniami pacjenta, a powrót do pełnej sprawności fizycznej, rodziny i społeczeństwa był możliwy.

Cardiosurgery is a section of surgery responsible for the operative treatment of the heart. Heart provides constant inflow of blood to all organs and tissues of the human organism. There cannot be any brake in the process of blood flow. Inflammatory process usually results in changes in the mitral valve. Reconstructive operation or exchange of the mitral valve causes the risk of considerable complications on the part of the whole organism. I have presented all of the most important nursing activities during preoperative and postoperative care. Their role in the whole treatment process and avoiding complications has also been described as well as the role of psychological care and physical rehabilitation. The importance of the proper preparation for the surgery and complex postoperative care has been underlined. Both of them are necessary to ensure that the whole treatment process and rehabilitation proceed according to patient’s expectations and his or her return to proper physical condition, family life and society becomes possible.
