Trade relations between the European Union and the United States. Currently and in the future

Praca przedstawia relacje handlowe Unii Europejskiej i Stanów Zjednoczonych.Analiza skupia się na etapach rozwoju relacji gospodarczych UE i Stanów Zjednoczonych oraz ich obecną sytuację.Rozdział pierwszy skupia się Wspólnej Polityce Handlowej (WPH) UE, jej genezie i kompetencjach, podstawach prawnych oraz instrumentach, z jakich może korzystać kształtując relacje handlowe z państwami trzecimi. Analizie zostaną także poddane aktualne sformalizowane stosunki handlowe UE oraz najważniejsze kierunki w eksporcie i imporcie Wspólnoty. Ważny pozostaje także charakter UE jako jednolitego podmiotu na arenie międzynarodowej, posiadający dzięki swoim kompetencjom silną globalną pozycję. W drugim rozdziale przedstawione zostaną wskaźniki ekonomiczne gospodarki USA, które znacząco determinują międzynarodową pozycję tego kraju oraz politykę handlową wobec partnerów gospodarczych. Analizie zostaną również poddane dotychczasowe obroty handlowe UE i USA, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem ich struktury branżowej. Rozdział trzeci z kolei zaprezentuje determinanty rozwoju wymiany handlowej UE i Stanów Zjednoczonych. Przedstawione zostaną zarówno czynniki stymulujące, jak i wpływające ograniczająco na rozwój omawianej relacji handlowej. Pracę kończy próba analizy przyszłej perspektywy w formalizacji i rozwoju stosunków gospodarczych UE i Stanów Zjednoczonych.

Thesis presents the trade relations of the European Union and the United States.The analysis is about the stages of development of economic relations between the EU and the United States and their current situation. The first chapter focuses on the Common Commercial Policy of the EU, its origins and competences, legal bases and instruments that can be used when shaping trade relations with third countries. The current formalized EU trade relations and the most important directions in the EU's export and import will also be analyzed. The character of the EU as a one market on the international area, having a strong global position due to its competences, is also important. The second chapter presents economic indicators of the US economy, which significantly determine the international position of this country and the trade policy towards business partners. The current EU and US trade turnover will also be analyzed, with particular emphasis on their industry structure. The third chapter will present the determinants of the development of trade between the EU and the United States. Both stimulating and influencing factors limiting the development of the discussed trade relation will be presented. The work ends with an attempt to analyze the future perspective in the formalization and development of economic relations between the EU and the United States.
