This paper serves to analyse lyrics of a Swedish heavy metal band Sabaton and the cultural exchange it raises. Given the topic, the most relevant album in the band's discography is "Carolus Rex", which contains 11 dynamic songs describing the prime time of the Swedish history and the legendary ruler, Carl the 12th. The epic lyrics full of the national pride glorify the legendary character, who is repeatedly compared to the Christian God. The target audience is worldwide international, since Sabaton is one of the most popular contemporary metal bands, therefore the phenomenon of cultural reception occurs. This is the basis of the analysed mechanism of the intercultural communication.
