Niniejsza praca zajmuje się pojęciem mieszczańskiej podwójnej moralności. Celem pracy jest przeprowadzenie analizy, ukazującej, w jaki sposób ten motyw jest zobrazowany w następujących dramatach przełomu wieków: „Anatol” (1892) i „Liebelei” (1895) autorstwa Arthura Schnitzlera. Podstawą rozważań są wymienione dzieła austriackiego autora oraz rezultaty badań literaturoznawców dotyczących literatury przełomu wieków.Praca składa się z wstępu, pięciu rozdziałów i części końcowej. Na początku zdefiniowane zostaje pojęcie podwójnej moralności oraz przedstawione są najważniejsze informacje o epoce przełomu wieków. Następnie zaprezentowane są istotne fakty dotyczące Arthura Schnitzlera. Kolejny rozdział poświęcony jest analizie tekstu dramatu Schnitzlera pod tytułem „Anatol”. Głównym przedmiotem badania jest charakterystyka Anatola i przedstawienie zachowań, które ukazują podwójną moralność mieszczaństwa. Następny rozdział dotyczy analizy dzieła „Liebelei” Schnitzlera, gdzie centralnym punktem jest ukazanie podwójnej moralności społeczeństwa oraz jej niszczących konsekwencji. Ostatnia część pracy zawiera wnioski wynikające z przeprowadzonych badań.W pracy wykazano, że podwójna moralność wiedeńskiego mieszczaństwa w okresie przełomu wieków jest wyraźnie odzwierciedlona w wyżej wymienionych dziełach Schnitzlera. Poprzez postać Anatola Schnitzler stworzył protagonistę, którego cechy i działania ukazują podwójną moralność. Badanie przedstawia również krytykę Schnitzlera wobec nierównego traktowania mężczyzn i kobiet oraz nierówności między miastem a przedmieściami, co jest szczególnie widoczne w dziele „Liebelei”. Praca wykazuje także, że podwójna moralność może być z jednej strony przedstawiana jako pozbawiona negatywnych konsekwencji, jak w przypadku Anatola, z drugiej strony może jednak prowadzić do tragicznych skutków, co jest wyraźnie pokazane w dziele "Liebelei".

The present work deals with the concept of bourgeois double morality. The purpose of the work is to conduct an analysis showing how this motif is depicted in the following turn of the century dramas: “Anatol” (1892) and “Liebelei” (1895) by Arthur Schnitzler. The basis for consideration is the mentioned works of the Austrian author and the results of the research of literary scholars on turn of the century literature.The work consists of an introduction, five chapters and a concluding section. At the beginning, the concept of double morality is defined and the most important information about the turn of the century era is presented. Next, important facts about Arthur Schnitzler are presented. The next chapter is devoted to the analysis of the text of Schnitzler's drama entitled “Anatol”. The main focus of the study is the characterization of Anatol and the presentation of behavior that shows the double morality of the bourgeoisie. The next section deals with the analysis of Schnitzler's work “Liebelei”, where the focal point is the depiction of the double morality of society and its devastating consequences. The last part of the work contains the conclusions of the research.The work shows that the double morality of the Viennese bourgeoisie at the turn of the century is clearly reflected in Schnitzler's works mentioned above. Through the character of Anatol, Schnitzler created a protagonist whose traits and actions show double morality. The study also presents Schnitzler's criticism of the unequal treatment of men and women and the inequality between the city and the suburbs, which is particularly evident in the work “Liebelei”. The work also shows that double morality can be portrayed as devoid of negative consequences on the one hand, as in the case of Anatol, but on the other hand can lead to tragic consequences, as is clearly shown in the work “Liebelei”.

Die vorliegende Arbeit befasst sich mit dem Begriff der bürgerlichen Doppelmoral. Ziel der Untersuchung ist es, zu erforschen, wie dieses Motiv in Dramen der Jahrhundertwende: „Anatol” (1892) und „Liebelei” (1895) von Arthur Schnitzler, veranschaulicht wird. Grundlage der Überlegungen sind die genannten Werke des österreichischen Autors sowie die Studienergebnisse von Literaturwissenschaftlern zur Literatur der Jahrhundertwende.Die Arbeit gliedert sich in eine Einleitung, fünf Kapitel und einen Schlussteil. Zu Beginn wird der Begriff der Doppelmoral definiert und die wesentlichsten Informationen über die Epoche der Jahrhundertwende vorgestellt. Anschließend werden wesentliche Fakten über Arthur Schnitzler präsentiert. Das nächste Kapitel widmet sich der Textanalyse von Schnitzlers Drama „Anatol”. Der Schwerpunkt der Untersuchung liegt auf der Charakterisierung des Protagonisten Anatol und der Darstellung der Verhaltensweisen, die die Doppelmoral des Bürgertums aufzeigen. Der folgende Abschnitt widmet sich der Analyse Schnitzlers „Liebelei”, wobei die Darstellung der bürgerlichen Doppelmoral und deren zerstörerische Konsequenzen im Mittelpunkt stehen. Der letzte Teil der Arbeit umfasst die Schlussfolgerungen, die aus den durchgeführten Untersuchungen gezogen wurden.In der Arbeit wird nachgewiesen, dass die Doppelmoral des Wiener Bürgertums in den oben genannten Werken deutlich von Schnitzler widergespiegelt wird. Durch die Figur des Anatol hat Schnitzler einen Protagonisten gestaltet, dessen Eigenschaften und Handlungen die Doppelmoral verdeutlichen. Die Untersuchung zeigt auch Schnitzlers Kritik an der ungleichen Behandlung von Männern und Frauen sowie dem Ungleichgewicht zwischen Stadt und Vorstadt, das vor allem in „Liebelei“ sichtbar ist. Die Arbeit kommt zu dem Schluss, dass Doppelmoral einerseits ohne negative Konsequenzen dargestellt werden kann, wie bei Anatol, andererseits jedoch auch tragische Folgen haben kann, wie im Werk "Liebelei" deutlich wird.
