dc.abstract.enA newly (2023) published "Orientalia" series of the "Lessico Etimologico Italiano" brings much lexical material for professional discussion. In this author’s opinion, some Turkish words attested in Italian sources were borrowed via Serbian rather than directly from Turkish. That is to say, Serbian sometimes played the role of an intermediary between Turkish and Italian. Two such cases, previously unknown, are shown in this article.
