Celem pracy licencjackiej było opisanie i przeanalizowanie życia codziennego podczas Drugiej Wojny Światowej w powieści "Die Stunde der toten Augen".Pierwsza, historyczno - teoretyczna część, poświęcona jest opisowi tła historycznego oraz zawiera informacje biograficzne na temat autora powieści, jak również opisuje powieść w kontekście literackim oraz powstanie wojsk spadochronowych i ich główne funkcje. Sytuacja na froncie na przełomie lat 1944/1945 została również opisana w części historyczno - teoretycznej. Druga część pracy licencjackiej była poświęcona analizie powieści "Die Stunde der toten Augen". W pierwszym podrozdziale części analitycznej zostało przeanalizowane i opisane życie codzienne bohaterów powieści. Spadochroniarze walczyli w pobliżu frontu w Prusach Wschodnich, przeprowadzając akcje sabotażowe, takie jak wysadzanie torów kolejowych czy atakowanie małych oddziałów wojsk rosyjskich. W drugim podrozdziale części analitycznej zostało zanalizowane i przedstawione, jak Druga Wojna Światowa wpłynęła na bohaterów powieści oraz na ich sposób myślenia i poglądy. Bohaterowie zrozumieli okrucieństwo i bezsensowność wojny kiedy było już za późno na normalne życie. Trzeci podrozdział części analitycznej został poświęcony Anni, jednej z bohaterów powieści, która była symbolem człowieczeństwa w Drugiej Wojnie Światowej. Była osobą zdeterminowaną, która była w stanie bezinteresownie pomóc każdemu człowiekowi, niezależnie od pochodzenia, ryzykując tym samym swoje życie.

The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to describe and analyse every day life during the Second World War in the novel „Die Stunde der toten Augen“. The first, historic - theoretical part was devoted both to the historical background and biographical information of the author Harry Thurk, who during the Second World War was one of the paratroopers in German division. Furthermore, in the theoretical part, there was also described the creation of the German paratroopers and their main tasks during the Second World War. The situation on the front during years 1944/1945 in East Prussia has been also described in the theoretical part. The second part, however, was devoted to the analysis of the novel „Die Stunde der toten Augen“. In the first section of the chapter, the every day life of the main characters from the novel, were presented and analysed. These paratroopers were fighting near the front line in East Prussia and they carried out sabotage operations, most often blasting railway tracks and attacking small groups of Russian soldiers. In the second section of the chapter, there was paid attention to the influence of the Second World War over the main characters. There was performed an analysis of how the main characters changed their way of thinking about the war. They understood the cruelty and the absurdity of the Second World War when it was too late for leading normal life. The third section of the chapter was devoted to one of the main characters from the novel, Anna, who was a symbol of humanity in the Second World War. She was a very determined person, because she was able to help everyone, regardless of one’s descent, risking her life at the same time.

Das Ziel der Bachelorarbeit ist vor allem die Beschreibung und Analyse des Kriegsalltags von Soldaten im Zweiten Weltkrieg.Die Bachelorarbeit besteht aus einem historisch-theoretischen und einem analytischen Teil. Im ersten Kapitel präsentiere ich ein paar Informationen über den Autor Harry Thürk, der genau wie die Protagonisten im Roman, Fallschirmjäger war. Im zweiten Unterkapitel beschreibe ich die Entstehung und die Aufgaben der Fallschirmjäger, wonach ich zur Situation an der Front in Ostpreußen in den Jahren 1944-1945 übergehe. Auf diese Weise kann man sich in die Lage der Protagonisten hineindenken. Das Reich ging schon damals seinem Ende entgegen. Es fehlte sowohl an ausgebildeten und erfahrenen Soldaten als auch an Munition und Ausrüstung. Die Front war ohne einheitliche Führung und das Selbstbefinden der Soldaten wurde immer schlechter, weil sie sich dessen bewusst waren, dass der Krieg zu Ende geht. Im vierten Unterkapitel beschreibe ich Merkmale der DDR und die Antikriegsliteratur.Im analytischen Teil beschreibe ich den Kriegsalltag der Protagonisten und analysiere, wie sie sich unter dem Einfluss des Krieges veränderten. Das letzte Unterkapitel des analytischen Teils widme ich der Protagonistin Anna, die als Symbol der Menschlichkeit im Zweiten Weltkrieg bezeichnet werden kann. In diesem Unterkapitel beschreibe ich den Charakter der Protagonisten, ihre schwierigen Erlebnisse und analysierte ihr Verhalten gegenüber anderen Menschen.
