The art of origami as a method of supporting fine motor skills development in early school-aged children

Origami jest sztuką, która wykorzystana jako metoda pracy z dzieckiem jest bardzo korzystna dla jego rozwoju zarówno poznawczego, jak i ruchowego, a nawet społecznego. Rozwój motoryczny dziecka jest niezwykle ważny w początkowych latach nauki, ponieważ to od tego zależy nauka pisania, koordynacja wzrokowo - ruchowa, a także rozwój poznawczy. Tematem tej pracy jest sztuka origami jako metoda wspierania małej motoryki dziecka w okresie wczesnoszkolnym. Pojawia się więc pytanie na ile przy użyciu origami możliwe jest wspieranie rozwoju motoryki małej u dzieci w wieku wczesnoszkolnym? Celem niniejszej pracy jest sprawdzenie w jakim zakresie, wykorzystując metodę origami, można wspierać rozwój motoryki małej dziecka w wieku wczesnoszkolnym. Badanie zostało przeprowadzone w formie eksperymentu pedagogicznego, zrealizowanego z uczniami klas III szkoły podstawowej. Po sprawdzeniu poziomu motoryki malej uczniów, grupa eksperymentalna wzięła udział w dziesięciu spotkaniach opartych na autorskim programie zajęć, wykorzystujących metodę origami. Po zajęciach ponowiono badania sprawdzające poziom motoryki małej dzieci. Na podstawie wyników badania nie można jednoznacznie stwierdzić, jaką wartość ma metoda origami dla rozwoju motoryki małej dziecka.

Origami is an art form that, when used as a method of working with children, can be highly beneficial for their cognitive, motor, and even social development. The development of a child's motor skills is crucial during the early years of learning, as it influences handwriting, visual-motor coordination, and cognitive growth. The focus of this thesis is the art of origami as a method of supporting fine motor skills development in early school-aged children. Therefore, the key question arises: to what extent is it possible to support the development of fine motor skills in early school-aged children through the use of origami? The aim of this study is to examine the extent to which the origami method can be used to support the development of fine motor skills in early school-aged children. The research was conducted in the form of a pedagogical experiment with third-grade primary school students. After assessing the level of fine motor skills among the students, the experimental group participated in ten meetings based on an original program that incorporated origami method. Post-meetings assessments were conducted to evaluate changes in the children's fine motor skills. Based on the study results, it is not possible to definitively determine the value of the origami method for the development of fine motor skills in children.
