Polityka bezpieczeństwa państw bałyckich oparta jest na potencjale własnych sił zbrojnych oraz kolektywnej obronie w ramach Organizacji Traktatu Północnoatalntyckiego. Federacja Rosyjska w optyce dokumentów strategicznych Litwy, Łotwy i Estonii definiowana jest jako zagrożenie egzystencjane dla ich bezpieczeństwa w związku z inwazją rosyjską na Ukrainę w 2014. Ma to swoje odzwierciedlenie w procesie modernizacji i zwiększenia swoich sił zbrojnych. NATO gwarantuje i odstrasza Rosję za pomocą obecności wojsk NATO na terenie państw bałtyckich w ramach EFP, oraz w domenie powietrznej poprzez Baltic Air Pollicing.
The security policy of the Baltic States is based on the potential of their own armed forces and collective defence within the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. The Russian Federation is defined in the optics of the strategic documents of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia as an existential threat to their security due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2014. This is reflected in the process of modernising and increasing their armed forces. NATO guarantees and deters Russia through the presence of NATO troops in the Baltic States within the EFP, and in the air domain through Baltic Air Policing.
