Praca koncentruje się na postaciach Boemunda z Tarentu, Ryszarda Lwie Serce oraz Ludwika IX Świętego, a szczególnie na ich działalności związanej z wyprawami krzyżowymi. Przedstawia rozwój etosu rycerskiego, a także wykształcenie się na jego podstawie modelu walczącego w obronie wiary krzyżowca. Główna część pracy poświęcona jest przygotowaniom wybranych mężczyzn do krucjaty, ich czynom podczas jej trwania, a także powrotowi z niej i konsekwencjom ich działań. Ich postępowanie zostaje poddane ocenie pod kątem etyki rycerskiej, co ukazuje stopień ich podobieństwa do wzorca krzyżowca idealnego.

This piece focuses on the following historical figures: Bohemond of Taranto, Richard the Lionheart and Louis IX the Holy; and their activities related to the crusades. It presents the development of the knight's ethos and also the development of the model crusader, fighting in defense of the Christian faith. Main part of this work focuses on examining the preparation of the aforementioned men for the crusade, their actions during its duration , as well as the return from it and the consequences of their actions. Their behavior is evaluated in terms of knight's ethics, which shows the degree of their similarity to the pattern of the ideal crusader.
