Household Expenditures on Healthcare in Poland from 2018 to 2022.

Wstęp:Gospodarstwa domowe ponoszą bardzo dużą część wydatków na ochronę zdrowia w Polsce. Koszty te różnią się w zależności od rodzaju gospodarstw domowych.Cel pracy:Celem pracy jest przedstawienie wydatków gospodarstw domowych na ochronę zdrowia w latach 2018–2022 oraz ich analiza pod względem m.in rodzaju gospodarstwa. Materiał i metody:W pierwszej części pracy zostały opisane gospodarstwa domowe i ich podział w rozróżnieniu na grupy zawodowe. Zostało przedstawione, jak zmieniła się liczba ludności w Polsce na przestrzeni 50 lat i liczba gospodarstw domowych. W pracy zostały przeanalizowane wydatki na ochronę zdrowia w Polsce w latach 2018-2022, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem udziału tych wydatków w budżetach publicznych, prywatnych oraz gospodarstw domowych. Analiza opiera się na danych pochodzących z Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego, z Narodowego Spisu Ludności 2021 (NSP), Banku Danych Lokalnych (BDL) oraz Roczniku Statystycznego Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej w edycjach 2019-2023.Wyniki:W ciągu analizowanych pięciu lat wydatki na ochronę zdrowia znacząco wzrosły, osiągając w 2022 roku poziom 205 559,1 mln zł nominalnie i 161 626,2 mln zł realnie. Wydatki gospodarstw domowych wzrosły z 27 413,20 mln zł w 2018 roku do 36 958,8 mln zł w 2022 roku, co stanowi wzrost o 34,9%. Emeryci ponoszą najwyższe wydatki na usługi farmaceutyczne w analizowanym okresie, a wzrost wydatków na przestrzeni 5 lat wyniósł 30,2%.Wnioski:Wydatki gospodarstw domowych odgrywają dużą rolę w ogólnych wydatkach na opiekę zdrowotną w Polsce. Wzrost wydatków na ochronę zdrowia może wskazywać na m.in zwiększające się koszty usług medycznych, zmieniające się potrzeby zdrowotne populacji oraz konieczność efektywnego zarządzania zasobami w sektorze zdrowia.

Introduction: Households bear a significant portion of healthcare expenses in Poland. These costs vary depending on the type of household.Objective: The objective of this study is to present household healthcare expenditures from 2018 to 2022 and to analyze them in terms of, among others, the type of household.Material and Methods: The first part of the study describes households and their division into professional groups. It presents how the population in Poland has changed over the past 50 years, along with the number of households. The study analyzes healthcare expenditures in Poland from 2018 to 2022, with a particular focus on the share of these expenditures in public, private, and household budgets. The analysis is based on data from the Central Statistical Office, the 2021 National Census (NSP), the Local Data Bank (BDL), and the Statistical Yearbook of the Republic of Poland in editions from 2019 to 2023.Results: Over the analyzed five years, healthcare expenditures significantly increased, reaching 205,559.1 million PLN nominally and 161,626.2 million PLN in real terms in 2022. Household expenditures rose from 27,413.20 million PLN in 2018 to 36,958.8 million PLN in 2022, representing an increase of 34.9%. Retirees incur the highest expenses on pharmaceutical services during the analyzed period, with a 30.2% increase in expenditures over five years.Conclusions: Household expenditures play a significant role in overall healthcare expenditures in Poland. The increase in healthcare spending may indicate, among other things, rising costs of medical services, changing health needs of the population, and the necessity for effective resource management in the health sector.
