The aim of this thesis is to present the art of still life painting in 17th and 18th century Poland. It begins with the analysis of royal, nobility and bourgeois collections of art which contained still life paintings. Further, the role of still life as an element of interior decoration is being analysed, based on examples of both secular and church interiors. The profiles of painters active within Polish territory of that time and dedicated to art of still life painting, together with outlines of their works, are presented in the final part. In the appendix presented are a number of excerpts from the archival inventory documents containing references to the still life paintings.
Celem pracy jest przedstawienie zagadnienia malarstwa martwej natury w Polsce w latach 1600-1800. Rozpoczyna się analizą kolekcji królewskich, szlacheckich i mieszczańskich pod kątem martwych natur. Następnie jest omówiona rola martwej natury jako elementu wystroju wnętrz na przykładzie zarówno wnętrz świeckich jak i kościelnych. W ostatnim rozdziale zaprezentowane są sylwetki artystów działających na terenie ówczesnej Polski tworzących obrazy tego gatunku. Załączone zostały wyciągi z inwentarzy dawnych kolekcji artystycznych, w których znajdowały się martwe natury.
