An Elementary Counterexample to the Finiteness Conjecture

We study two generalizations of spectral radius to sets of matrices together with their properties. These are called the joint/generalized spectral radius. The topic of the thesis is the Lagarias-Wang conjecture. The Lagarias-Wang conjecture was proven to be false in general. In the thesis, we discuss a counterexample and some cases in which the conjecture might still hold.
