Prostitute as a character of worldwide literature based on Emile Zola's Nana

Metoda naturalistyczna zaprezentowana przez Zolę zjednoczyła sobie wielu zwolenników, jak i przeciwników. Nana, jako jedna z dwunastu tomowego cyklu, została określona przez autora „poematem samczych pożądań”. Z początku mogłoby się wydawać, że opisuje jedynie życie prostytutki, po kilku stronach jednak okazuje się, że powieść nie opowiada tylko o kobiece lekkich obyczajów, ale ukazuje moralny upadek francuskiego społeczeństwa, a także autodestrukcję jednostki.Celem poniższej pracy jest omówienie problematyki utworu i analiza koncepcji naturalistycznej powieści, z uwzględnieniem sucho opisanej rzeczywistości, pokazującej każdy negatywny aspekt. Ponadto, zostanie zwrócona uwaga na relacje głównej bohaterki zarówno z mężczyznami, jak i synem i innymi kobietami oraz to, co ją determinowało. Analizie zostanie poddany również charakter tytułowej bohaterki i motywy jej postępowania. Praca bazować będzie na opracowaniach naukowych, a także materiałach własnych.

The naturalist method presented by Emile Zola has united many supporters and opponents. Nana as one of the 20-volume Rougon-Macquart series was described by the author as „poem of man lust”. In theory, the naturalists saw humanity trapped by forces which it couldn't control. At firts, it may seem that novel only described the life of prostitute – actually, there are two Nanas in the novel. One which is the simple girl who wants to be respected and the second, symbolic one, who represents the erotic love godness. Exept that, Nana is an example of collapse of french society.The aim of this study is presents the issues of novel and analys naturalist method in practice. Besides, attention is paid to relationships between Nana and mans, her son and other women. The study was conducted trought the use of an interdisciplinary analysis.
