Requirements analysis, design and implementation of an application to support food waste prevention

Żyjąc w czasach konsumpcjonizmu nie zwracamy uwagi na straty i konsekwencje jakie to za sobą niesie. Obecnie wytwarzamy więcej jedzenia niż jesteśmy wstanie zjeść, co skutkuje wyrzuceniem znacznej części żywności. Problem ten urósł do tak ogromnej skali, że skutki zaczynamy odczuwać w innych dziedzinach, w tym ekonomicznej oraz ekologicznej. W odpowiedzi na ten problem opracowano aplikację, której zadaniem jest stopniowe uświadamianie użytkowników, a przez to społeczeństwa o wadze problemu i możliwych rozwiązaniach. Platforma umożliwia dodawanie produktów do listy oraz zarządzanie nimi, w celu monitorowania terminów ważności. Praca zawiera analizę problemu, wymagań, opis systemu oraz jego implementacji. Przedstawiono logikę i architekturę powstałej aplikacji, a także szczegółowo opisano użyte w procesie tworzenia technologie. Przykładowe widoki interfejsu umożliwiają zobrazowanie efektów pracy. Aplikacja promuje odpowiedzialne nawyki konsumpcyjne, z zamysłem dotarcia do szerszego grona odbiorców.

Living in an era of consumerism, we don't pay attention to the losses and consequences it entails. Nowadays, we produce more food than we can eat, which results in the throwing away of a considerable amount of food. This problem has grown to such an enormous scale that the effects are beginning to be felt in other areas, including economic and ecological. In response to this problem, an app has been developed to gradually make users, and by extension the public, aware of the severity of the problem and possible solutions. The platform allows users to add products to the list and manage them to monitor expiration dates. The paper includes an analysis of the problem and requirements, a description of the system and its implementation. The logic and architecture of the resulting system are presented, and the technologies used in the development process are described in detail. Sample views of the interface allow to illustrate the results of the work. The application promotes responsible consumption habits, with the idea of reaching a wider audience.
