To próba podsumowania osoby Katarzyny Medycejskiej jako kobiety, ostatniej spadkobierczyni rodu Medyceuszy, matki królów i jednej z najpotężniejszych kobiet ówczesnej Europy. Na kilkanaście (ponad 17 tysięcy) listów zebranych w 10 tomach opracowania de la Ferriere’a i de Puchesse’a, kilka tysięcy jest na temat dzieci, do dzieci lub o dzieciach. W wielu z nich Katarzyna Medycejska pokazywała swoje drugi oblicze : nie polityka a matki. Jako matka, Katarzyna Medycejska była troskliwą, kochającą i bardzo wrażliwą kobietą.

This is an attempt to depict Catherine de Medici as a woman, the last heir of the Medici family, the mother of kings, and one of the most powerful women in Europe at that time. For more than 17,000 letters collected in 10 volumes,of de la Ferriere and de Puchesse work, several thousand is about children or to her children. In many of them, Catherine de Medici showed her second face: not as a politician but as a mother. And as a mother, Catherine de Medici was a caring, loving and very sensitive woman.
