High sensitivity and the severity of borderline personality traits

Celem pracy jest zbadanie związku pomiędzy wysoką wrażliwością w oparciu o teorię Elaine Aron, a nasileniem cech charakterystycznych dla zaburzenia osobowości borderline, wyjaśnianego za pomocą Pięcioczynnikowego modelu osobowości. W badaniu ilościowym udział wzięło 102 respondentów, jako narzędzia badawcze użyte zostały kwestionariusze HSPS i FFBI-SF do zbadania kolejno: wysokiej wrażliwości i nasilenia cech zaburzenia borderline. Wyniki wykazały istotną statystycznie korelację, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem czynnika łatwości wzbudzenia i bycia przytłoczonym (EOE) oraz sugerują, że wysoka wrażliwość może stanowić czynnik ryzyka w rozwoju cech borderline, szczególnie z uwzględnieniem trudnych doświadczeń emocjonalnych w dzieciństwie i okresie dorastania. Stanowi to jednocześnie potwierdzenie konieczności prowadzenia dalszych badań w tym zakresie, by przyczynić się do opracowania skuteczniejszych strategii terapeutycznych.

The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between high sensitivity based on Elaine Aron's theory and the intensity of traits that are characteristic to borderline personality disorder, explained using the Five-Factor Model of Personality. The study involved 102 respondents, and the HSPS and FFBI-SF questionnaires were used as research tools to examine respectively: high sensitivity and the intensity of borderline personality disorder traits. The results showed a statistically significant correlation, with particular emphasis on the factor of being easily aroused and overwhelmed (EOE), and suggest that high sensitivity may be a risk factor in the development of borderline traits, especially with regard to difficult emotional experiences in the childhood and adolescence. This also confirms the need for further research in this area to contribute to the development of more effective therapeutic strategies.
