Family in Poland of 19th-20th century. Demographic and historical study based on family genealogy.

Niniejsza praca jest poświęcona historii rodziny chłopskiej w wiekach XIX i XX. Jest to rodzina autora pracy z obrębu jednego drzewa genealogicznego. Rozprawa jest podzielona na cztery zasadnicze rozdziały. Głównym celem badań było poznanie przemian demograficznych oraz społeczno-zawodowych w tej rodzinie. W uzyskaniu odpowiedzi na to pytanie użyto metody rekonstrukcji rodzin. Podstawowym źródłem były księgi metrykalne z kilku parafii wiejskich położonych w Ziemi Sieradzkiej. Księgi parafialne były prowadzone osobno dla chrztów, małżeństw i zgonów. Zebrane dane zamieszczono na kartach rodzin. Na ich bazie przeanalizowano szereg wskaźników demograficznych. Prześledzono dzieje rodziny w tzw. długim trwaniu. Po zestawieniu rezultatów badań z literaturą stwierdzono, że nie przyniosły one rewolucyjnych wyników.

This master thesis is dedicated to history of peasant family of the 19th-20th century. The family is from one family tree. The thesis consists of four chapters. The main aim of research was knowing of demographic and socio-professional in this family. The method of family reconstruction used in the research. The basic of historical source was registrations of the Catholic Church from a few rural parishes in the Sieradz land. Parishes books were dividing based on the books of baptisms, marriages and deaths. With collected data were created cards of family. Based on them, a several of demographic indicators were analyzed. The fate of the family has been traced in a long period of time. The results of research compares with literature results. The research did not bring any revolutionary conclusions. The autor's family was typical of his time.
