A few comments on medieval arabic music in the light of selected sources from elaborations, paper of Ibn Abī’l-Dunyā and Quran

Praca opisuje wybrane aspekty średniowiecznej muzyki arabskiej oraz przedstawia punkt widzenia pewnych autorytetów ówczesnego świata arabskiego. Opiera się głównie na tekście źródłowym autorstwa Ibn Abī’l-Dunyi pod tytułem "Ḏamm al-malāhī" i konfrontuje zawarty w nim pogląd ze stanowiskiem Koranu. Inne teksty źródłowe wykorzystane są pośrednio poprzez użycie dzieł powstałych w oparciu o nie, przykładowo "Dziejów Arabów" P. K. Hittiego.

This thesis depicts selected aspects of medieval arabic music and presents the perspective of the few authorities of the Arabic world then. It relies mostly on the source text by Ibn Abī’l-Dunyā entitled "Ḏamm al-malāhī" and confronts the point of view concluded in it with the attutide of Quran. Other source texts are used indirectly by use of works based on them, for example "History of the Arabs" by P. K. Hitti.
