Plastic as a modern doomsday device

Plastik zrewolucjonizował współczesny świat. Jest on obecny w każdej dziedzinie życia. W pierwszym rozdziale niniejszej pracy została scharakteryzowana specyfika tego tworzywa, jego rodzaje i historia powstania. Opisane zostało także, co się z niego produkuje oraz jak długo produkty te się rozkładają. Drugi rozdział to zarys możliwych zagrożeń spowodowanych nadmierną produkcją plastiku. Poruszone zostały także problemy takie jak gromadzenie, ograniczony recykling bądź jego brak. W ostatnim z rozdziałów został opisany problem plastikowych odpadów w Unii Europejskiej, w Niemczech, w USA oraz na wyspie Jawa.

Plastic has revolutionized the whole modern world. It is present in every aspect of our lives. In the first chapter of the presented thesis the specificity of this material, its types and history of the beginning is presented. The characterization of produced products and time of decomposition of plastic is also considered. The second chapter is an outline of possible threats caused by excessive production of plastic. The problems such as hoarding, limited recycling or a absence of such are brought up. In the last chapter the problem of plastic waste in the European Union, Germany, USA and Java is described.
